How do I build a Midi Donation Station?

A step-by-step guide for building your table-top Midi device.

🔶1. Unboxing your Midi device

Your Donation Station Midi will arrive in a box similar to this.Midi in box closedMidi Box Open

To unbox, cut the tape closing the box, carefully remove surrounding packaging, then remove the Donation Station Midi.

 

Inside you will receive:

🔸The pre-built Midi Head Unit with the stand of your choice & optional header panel

Additionally, not shown:

🔸A power cable and wall adapter

🔸A set of keys

🔸A pokey tool

🔸A lanyard with an attached support QR code

ℹ️ If you ordered printed branding, this will be sent in a separate package.

🔶 2. Attach your Stand

ℹ️ Your Midi will arrive built.

The following instructions can be used if you need to change the stand or attach and detach the header panel.

🔶 Open the Head 

To start you will need to open the head to access the stands fixing screws

🔸 a. Insert the key into the lock at the rear of Head Unit and twist.
This will release the locking pin with a click

🔸b. Place your thumbs on the inner edge of the Bezel and your fingers on the top of the head unit. Use your thumbs to slide the bezel up

🔸c. Grab the Bezel on the right-hand edge with your fingers with your thumbs on the card reader expansion.


Press down with your thumbs and lift with the fingers to remove the Bezel from the head unit.

🔸d. Unplug any internal cables from the touchscreen and unclip from the back.
Place gently to one side

🔶 Attach a Kickback Stand

🔸To attach Kickback stand, remove the four nuts from the four bolts on the stand.
Line up the four bolts with the four holes in the back the Head Unit and put together. Screw on the four nuts using a [Size Required] Socket until tight.

Midi Standard

 

🔶 Attach the Midi Stand

🔸To attach the Midi Stand, line up the four holes in the Midi Stand with the Head Unit. Thread the bolts through the washer, through the head unit, and tighten using a 3mm Allan Key, screw the four screws in.

🔶Attach the Secure Stand

🔸a. Using the template included or use the threads of the base, mark the drill holes onto the surface where you would like to mount the stand. Drill the three holes for the bolts and one hole for the power cable.

🔸b. With the threads attached to the secure stand, slot them through the drill hole. Slide the washer onto the threads from underneath and screw on the nuts using a 13mm spanner (not supplied).

🔸c. To attach the Head Unit to the Secure Stand, line up the four holes in the Secure Stand with the Head Unit. Thread the bolts through the washer, through the head unit, and tighten using a 3mm Allan Key, screw the four screws in.

🔶 3. Attach the top branding panel

To fit the branding panel, you will first need to detach the head unit from it's stand

🔸a. Loosen the four bolts attaching the Head Unit to the stand

🔸b. Slide the header panel between the back of the Head Unit and stand

🔸c. Tighten the bolts to hold everything firmly in place.

🔶 4. Put together the Head Unit

🔸a. If required, thread the power cable through stand and into the head.

🔸b. Once the Stand and header panel have been attached, connect the cables to the touch screen.

🔸c. Line up the four lugs on the edge of the Bezel with the seats on the Head Unit and drop the Bezel in the Head Unit.

🔸d. Slide the Bezel down until all the edges of the Head Unit line up.

🔸e. Push in the locking pin on the back.
