How do I build a Skinny Donation Station?

A step-by-step guide for building your floor-standing Skinny device.

🔶 1. Unboxing your Skinny

Your Donation Station Skinny will arrive in a box similar to this:

To unbox, cut the tape closing the box, carefully remove surrounding packaging, then remove the Donation Station Skinny.

 

Inside you will receive:

🔸The Skinny head unit, upright pole and base stand

🔸A power cable and wall adapter

🔸4 head screws

🔸3 base screws

🔸3 branding stand-off screws (not included when no branding is ordered)

🔸5mm Allen Key

🔸3mm Allen Key

🔸A set of keys

🔸A pokey tool

🔸A lanyard with an attached support QR code

🔸An orange cable 'pull-through' string

🔶 2. Building the Skinny stand

To start, you will need to affix the base, upright stand and head together.

🔸a. Remove the 3 bolts from the bottom of the upright stand

🔸b. Line up the 3 bolt holes with the 3 holes in the base

🔸c. Make sure the feet point away from the upright pole.

🔸d. Using your Allen Key, screw the 3 bolts through the base, fixing it to the upright pole.

🔶 3. Attaching the Skinny head

🔸a. Open up the head unit by inserting the key into the lock at the rear of head unit and twist.

This will release the locking pin with a click.

🔸b. Place your thumbs on the inner edge of the bezel and your fingers on the top of the head unit.

Use your thumbs to slide the bezel upwards.

🔸c. Grab the bezel on the right-hand edge with your fingers with your thumbs on the card reader expansion.

Press down with your thumbs and lift with the fingers to remove the bezel from the head unit.

🔸d. Unplug any internal cables from the touchscreen and unclip from the back. Place gently to one side.

🔸e. Line up the four holes in the stand with the head unit. Thread the bolts through the washer and head unit. Using a 3mm Allen Key, screw the 4 screws in.

🔶 4. Attaching the top branding panel

🔸a. Loosen the 4 bolts attaching the head unit

🔸b. slide the header panel between the back of the head unit and stand.

🔸c. Tighten the bolts to hold everything firmly in place.

🔶 5. Fit the Cables

🔸a. Lower the cable pull-through down the up-right pole.

🔸b.  Pull clip through the base hole. Attach power cable and optional security cable

🔸c. Pull the power cable through the up-right pole.

🔸d. Once the stand and header panel have been attached, connect the cables to the touch screen.

🔸e. Line up the 4 lugs on the edge of the bezel with the seats on the head unit and drop the bezel in the head unit. 

🔸f. Slide the bezel down until all the edges of the head unit line up. Push in the locking pin on the back.

🔶 5. Attaching the bottom branding panel

🔸a. Remove the bolt hole covers from the upright pole.

🔸b. Unscrew the finger tightened screw from the stand offs.

🔸c. using the 3mm Allen key screw into the bolt holes on the upright pole.

🔸c. Push the finger tightened screws through the branding panel and screw into the stand offs.
