🔶 What is an Attract Loop?
The Attract Loop is an effective feature, used to engage visitors without the need for fundraising staff or volunteer presence.
Essentially, it is a series of visuals that appear on screen in a loop, like a screensaver, on your Donation Station, when it's not being used by a donor.
As soon as someone taps the screen, the Attract Loop disappears, and the donor is presented with the Donor Journey.
Info: A good Attract Loop will have eye catching designs, that draw attention to the Donation Station, and inform the donor they can donate at the kiosk.

🔶What makes a good Attract Loop?
A good Attract Loop design will always have:
📷 Imagery or visuals: connected with your cause.
💬 Call to Action: a simple direction to donate.
ℹ️ Your charity logo and brand colours: to ensure passing people know this device is fundraising for your charity.
🔶 Design guidance for creating your visuals
Imagery or visuals
Each design should be 1280x800 pixels landscape, saved as
🔸 .png
🔸.jpeg
🔸.gif files
If you are designing these yourselves, look at designing 3 to 5 images for use on the Attract Loop.
Choose images that suit this frame size, adjusting to this ratio if needed.
Tip: Look for images or photos that do not appear pixelated at this size, and key parts of the image such as people or important objects are not cropped out.
Look for photos that represent key aspects of the building, environment or people that your charity serves.
🆘 If suitable photos aren't available, consider using block colour backgrounds or any illustrations or graphics that already exist from your website or marketing materials.
Call to Action
🔸A "Call to Action" or CTA, is a marketing term for any text designed to prompt an immediate response or encourage an action
🔸"Calls to Action" will be very important for ensuring your Donation Station is recognisable as a Donation kiosk, rather than any other type of service or payment point.
🔸Here are some common useful phrases to put on your Attract Loop:
-
-
-
Tap to Donate
-
Donate Here
-
Donate Today
-
Support Us Here
-
Give Here
-
Give Today
-
Support our Cause
-
Touch the screen to donate
-
Please make a donation
-
-
We recommend: that at least one of your Attract Loop visuals has a 'Donate Here' or 'Donate Today' or 'Tap to Donate' message on it.

Charity logo and brand colours
Your logo that can be placed onto the Attract Loop visuals, adding this, together with any specific colours and fonts in your brand guidelines or website is a great way to identify the Donation Station as belonging to your charity.
🔶 Optimising your Attract Loop
Sometimes, it's a good idea to add more messaging to your Attract Loops, when you are using a Donation Station for a specific campaign or to engage with key motivations for giving.
Here we use an example from a hospital charity whose design goes further with their designs to create a compelling message to donate:
The design uses a CTA: 'Donate here' designed to mimic a on-screen button, with a secondary cause-aligned message
Consider any messaging already in use across your charity or campaigns, and look at how it could support the key aim of an Attract Loop, which is motivating people to stop, engage, and donate.
